  NEW DANCERS SEASON 2008 - 2009

Casey Herd (principal dancer) from Salt Lake City (Utah, U.S.A.) trained at the Ballet West Academy (Salt Lake City), Kirov Academy (Washington) and the Pacific Norhtwest Ballet School. He was finalist in the Paris International Ballet Competition in 1996, after which he joined the American Ballet Theatre. In 1999 he joined the Pacific Northwest Ballet, where he in 2002 was promoted to soloist and to principal in 2006. His roles span from George Balanchine to William Forsythe, Nacho Duato to Twyla Tharp, Glenn Tetley to Jerome Robbins. Principal roles include Marius Petipa's Sleeping Beauty, Le Corsaire Pas de Trois, Don Quixote, Paquita, Kent Stowell's Carmen, Carmina Burana, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet and many other. Casey danced with Het Nationale Ballet as a guest artist last season in The Sleeping Beauty.

Sascha Radetsky (principal dancer), born in Santa Cruz (California, U.S.A.) began his ballet studies in San Francisco Bay Area with Ayako Takahashi and Damara Bennett followed by the Bolshoi Academy and Kirov Academy in Washington. He has been a member of American Ballet Theatre since 1996 and was promoted to soloist in 2003. Sascha has been dancing principal and soloist roles in Nutcracker, Le Corsaire, Manon, Sylvia, The Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Giselle, Romeo and Juliet and many others. He has danced works of choreographers such as George Balanchine, Mark Morris, Paul Taylor, Kenneth MacMillan, Twyla Tharp, John Cranko, Christopher Wheeldon and Jiri Kylian. Sascha starred in the film Center Stage and several television shows and has appeared in numerous television and print commercials. He will join us up from September.

Nadia Yanowsky (grand sujet), born in Madrid (Spain), graduated with honors at the age of 17 from the Conservatorio de Musica y Danza de la Comunidad in Madrid. She trained with companies such as The Royal Ballet, Boston Ballet, Jeune Ballet de France and Ballet Nacional de Cuba. In 2002 she won the 2nd prize at the Luxemburg International competition and Prix D' Encouragement. Since 1999 she danced with Ballet de Atlantico and English National Ballet. In 2003 she joined Staatsballett Berlin, where she was promoted to demi-soloist in 2004. Nadiesda has the Spanish nationality.

Annabelle Hellinckx (coryphee), born in Ukkel (Belgium) is educated in Belgium. Since 2000 she danced with the Royal Ballet of Flanders in Antwerp, where she has been promoted to soloist. Annabelle has danced principal and soloist roles like in The Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadere and Nutcracker. She worked with contemporary choreographers like David Dawson, William Forsythe and Krzysztof Pastor.

Ryan Ocampo (coryphee), born in Manilla (Fillippines), started his training at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Dance School. After his education he has danced with companies as Ballet Philippines, Singapore Dance Theatre, Buhnen Graz OpernHaus (Austria) en the Bavarian State Ballett (Munich), and recently with Galili Dance (Groningen, The Netherlands). Ryan has danced most of the classis and works from John Neumeier, Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, George Balanchine, Hans van Manen en anderen.

Celine Kraal (corps de ballet), born in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), received her education at the Natalia Papinashvilli's Ballet School, The Norwegian National Ballet School (Oslo, Norway) and at the National Ballet Academy (Amsterdam, The Netherlands). In 2004 she joined The Norwegian National Ballet. In 2005 she was a winner of the Scandinavian and International Ballet Competition for Young Dancers. She danced ballets such as Serenade, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Onegin, Apollo, Four Temperaments and others. Celine has the Dutch nationality.

George Hill (corps de ballet), born in Bath (U.K.), received his education at the Royal Ballet School (Lonon, U.K.). Before he joined Dresden Semperoper Ballett in 2005. George already gained experience with The Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet from 2003 to 2005. With Dresden Semperoper he danced (demi) soloist roles in ballets from William Forsythe, John Neumeier, David Dawson, Aaron Watkin and Jiri Kylian.

Matthew Pawlicki-Sinclair (corps de ballet), born in Kansas City (Arizona, U.S.A.), trained at the North Carolina School of the Arts and participated in several summer intensives. In 2005 he joined the Kansas City Ballet. Repertoire includes Nutcracker, Carmen, Stravinsky Violin Concerto, La Fille Mal Gardee, Company B, The Catherine Wheel Suite and others. Matthew has the American nationality.

Naira Agvanean (adspirant), born in Erevan (Armenia), studied at the Moldavian State Ballet College and the Heinz -Bosl-Siftung Ballet Academy in Munich. She was a finalist at the Youth America Grand Prix and won the 1st prize in the Odessa competition in the Ukraine. Naira is from Armenia. Wendeline Dijkstra (adspirant), born in Vlissingen (The Netherlands), studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague (The Netherlands).

Ayana Kamemoto (adspirant) from Japan received her education at the Melissa Kong School of Ballet in Hong Kong, the International Dance School in Tokyo and the Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung Ballet Academy in Munich. Ayana will join us in October.

Hannah de Klein (adspirant), born in Geleen (The Netherlands), studied at the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam.

Sarah Poss (adspirant), born in Coto de Casa (California, U.S.A.), has finished the Westside School in California, The Staatliche Balletschule in Berlin and since 2007 she participated in the Ellison Ballet Professional Training Program in New York.

Alexander Loxton (adspirant), born in Stoubridge (U.K.), is educated at the Elmhurst School for dance and The Royal Ballet School in London. Het participated in several workshops and courses. Alexander was a finalist at the Young British Dancer of the Year competition.
